stollenland
A love letter to the Erzgebirge and the art of baking

stollenland is not just a name. It is a tribute to the Erzgebirge: a mountainous region in Saxony that has been known as 'the land of Christmas' for centuries. This is the place where candle arches glow in every window, where wooden nutcrackers are carved by hand and where the tradition of artisan craftsmanship runs deeper than anywhere else in Germany.

It is also where our stollen has its roots and where every single loaf is still made by hand today, with time, dedication and an absolute refusal to cut corners.

Like the finest december snow

What we produce here is not an off-the-shelf stollen. It is a loaf with character — made from exceptional ingredients, crafted with skill and given the time it needs to properly develop. When the first stollen of the season emerge from our oven and the icing sugar drifts through the bakery like the finest December snow, the most wonderful time of the year begins. For us, and — we like to think — for our customers too.

Stollen from a region that truly understands what Christmas means

Whether it is our butter stollen, our almond stollen or our poppy seed stollen, every recipe has been refined over decades of dedicated baking. Our spice blend remains a closely guarded family secret, passed down through generations and never compromised. Our stollen are not mass-produced. Each one is an individual piece — baked to a standard, recognised with awards and loved by customers far beyond the borders of Saxony. stollenland stands for handcrafted Christmas stollen from a region that truly understands what Christmas means.

All you need to know about stollen

How long does German Christmas stollen keep?

Our butter stollen and almond stollen varieties keep for up to 2–3 months when stored in a cool, dry place (ideally below 18 °C). The premium butter stollen has a shelf life of up to 3 months. In fact, many stollen lovers find that the flavour continues to deepen and improve over the first few weeks after baking — just as tradition intended.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we ship to many countries. You can view all available shipping destinations and the corresponding shipping costs directly in your cart during checkout.

What is the difference between butter stollen and almond stollen?

Our classic butter stollen contains sultanas, almonds, rum and candied citrus peel — the full, traditional Christmas profile. Our almond stollen, on the other hand, is made without raisins or strong spices, letting the pure flavour of sweet almonds shine. It is a more delicate, refined choice — perfect for purists or anyone who prefers a milder Stollen.

Is there a stollen option without candied peel?

Yes! Our premium butter stollen without candied peel offers all the richness and depth of our signature recipe, but without the citrus peel. It is ideal for anyone who finds candied peel too sharp or chewy. Same quality, same care, same generous 1,500 g size.

Do your stollen contain preservatives?

No. All our stollen are made without artificial preservatives. The natural shelf life comes from the quality of the ingredients — particularly the generous amount of butter and the rum — which act as natural preservatives just as they have in traditional Stollen recipes for centuries.

Can I order stollen as a gift?

Absolutely. A handcrafted German Christmas stollen makes an exceptional gift — particularly for food lovers, expats missing home or anyone who appreciates genuine artisan baking. Our stollen are securely packaged and can be shipped directly to the recipient. Simply enter the gift address at checkout.

When should I order to receive my stollen before Christmas?

We recommend placing your order as early as possible during the Advent season to avoid disappointment. Specific shipping and availability dates are displayed on each product page. Sign up to our newsletter to be notified when the new season's Stollen go on sale.
